The Distance of Blue is a short art film based around the journey of a fictional space traveler, played by the artist. An astronaut is unfrozen from stasis, and a miniature B-movie epic of time travel, exploration and destruction takes place.

This film was made as an expression of solidarity with my queer self. I wanted to make something that celebrated the uncertainty, the awkwardness, and the joy of leaving behind a traditional identity. By making everything by hand, including the costumes, sets, props, drawings, and animations, this piece reflects a commitment to creating my most authentic self.
